About Me
Hi! My name is Alyssa! I completed my degree in Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Waterloo. After graduating from University, I knew that there were many different career paths that interested me.
I wanted to continue coaching gymnastics.
I wanted to continue working in computer science.
I wanted to be a mom.
I wanted to do it all.
I was very excited to start a job at the University of Waterloo working at the centre for extended learning after graduating. This job allowed me to continue coaching gymnastics on evenings and weekends. About a year later, we welcomed our first baby and as a family made the decision for me to leave my job to stay home with our son. A few years, and a few more babies later I was looking for a way to incorporate all my interests back into my life.
This is where the Little Sheep Shop began. I started with creating many different math and coding toys for children. The coding board was a huge hit and I ended up patenting the design. After a few more years, Little Sheep Shop has grown to be a resource for coding and mathematics for all age groups. The goal is to introduce tech literacy in an unconventional way...outdoors, unplugged, in nature.
I would love for everyone to love learning and I'm going to do my best to show them that mathematics and computer science can be artistic, creative, and fun!
